Before Possum was established, the de Kaegels had sheltered Wally Lashbrook (RAF - SPG/1264) from 26th April to 6th May 1943.
René Serpe of Sillery brought Donald Ogilvie and Bruce Kilmer (USAAF) to the de Kaegels. They stayed from 1st to 8th November 1943 and were then passed on to Marguerite Bulart, who organised the safe houses in Reims.
A US airman, possibly John Vollmuth, was sheltered for 8 days in March 1944.
Maurice Thomas (USAAF) was sheltered for 4 days from 22nd May 1944 and passed on to René Serpe.
Jean Louis de Kaegel was arrested by the Gestapo on 8th June and deported to Dachau in Germany on 2nd July 1944. He was transferred to Natzweiler-Struthof on 22nd July 1944 & assigned to the Neckargerach kommando, where he died in on 8th December 1944.
