Simone and Lucienne were sisters, the step-daughters of Eugène Gobert. They gave shelter to six airmen, listed below. Raymond Gallet claims they also sheltered eight RAF airmen, but only one name (Johnson) is known. Recollections of how long the airmen stayed with them differ widely. The dates given below have been estimated from the airmen's evasion reports.

At the end of December 1943 Donald Ogilvie and Bruce Kilmer (USAAF) were staying with Lucienne Mulette and Simone Ledru, when the Germans began their search of Fismes. Ogilvie and Kilmer evaded capture. There are two slightly different versions of this event:
Simone Ledru went into hiding for eight months at Chateau-Thierry (60 kms SW of Reims) and in Paris..
Lucienne Mulette was arrested on 31st December 1943 and held in Reims's prison, then:
• 20th January 1944 | taken to Laon |
• 14th June 1944 | taken to Romainville |
• 19th June 1944 | deported to Sarrebrück Neue Bremm |
