Robert Rocher was a close friend of Dominique Edgard Potier, the head of the Possum network and Suzanne Bastin. When the arrests happened in Fismes and Reims, there were seven airmen remaining in Paris and it became very difficult to place them in safe-houses. Rocher looked after Joseph Kenny and James Gillman (RAF), when the Gestapo visited Bastin's home in February 1944. He passed them on to the Recoule family. Harvey Christensen (USAAF) was sheltered by Rocher, but it is not known when or for how long. Rocher arranged for his departure at the beginning of August 1944.
Rocher conceived a plan to rescue Potier from the prison at Reims, but it came too late to help him.
